- Age of vineyard: 30 years old
- 2021 was one of the best McLaren Vale vintages in the 21st century, with really favorable weather conditions
WINEMAKING
- 100% hand-picked a whole bunch of Red Sémillon from Kuitpo.
- De-stemmed, then half in stainless steel with extended skin contact and 2 batches in ceramic eggs filled with skins for about 250 days.
- All are brought together in about 3 months before bottling, with time to settle in and relax.
- No fining, no filtration.
WHAT’S GOOD?
- Super herbaceous – Koen calls this a “proper winter wine” but it can work at any time of the year.
- A soft complex and easy-drinking version of Campari, without the bitterness and no need for a mixer with it.
