GROWING
- Soil Type: A layered bed of sedimentary materials including compressed sandstone, silica, siltstone, and mud-clast conglomerate formed over 65 million years ago
- Nikau Home block
WINEMAKING
- Inspired by Ganevat’s Pinot Noir – embracing elegance, power and complexity at such low alcohols
- Healthy grapes picked at a baumé of 11.3 and a TA (titratable acid) of 12.3
- Hand-sorted, hand destemmed, and cold-soaked for 48 hours to start fermentation very slowly
- Fermentation lasted 6 days before pressing to a small stainless steel tank to finish fermenting as juice

- A reflection of 7 years of hard work and understanding of the vineyard’s nuances, its character, and intricacies
- The wine is the culmination of a lot of work and a lot of learning that Dane could not be happier to put into bottles
- Extremely elegant structure with depth and complexity, despite its 11% alcohol
- Fresh, energetic, but also full of subtle, fine-scale complexity
- Only 434 bottles produced
