GROWING

• Soil Type: Rocky, volcanic soils with a complex mix of mineral-rich Ironstone, Dolerite Green Basalt, and Jasper
• Mt Camel Vineyard of the Chalmers family in Heathcote (VIC)

WINEMAKING

• This is a blend of Nero D’avola & Moscato Giallo.
• Each variety had its own fermentation process in stainless steel. 
• Both varieties fermented using Dane’s refined semi-liquid carbonic technique, allowing good extraction of flavor and phenolics while keeping the wine lean, rather than too tannic or “fruit forward”.
• Racked once and bottled by gravity.

WHAT’S GOOD?

• Another brand new cuvée for 2022.
• A complex yet easy drinking light(er) red with great texture.
• Exceptionally balanced, with great harmony between fruit, minerality, and acidity.

Note from the winemaker:

“I’m a firm believer in the saying “The only thing permanent is Change” and with that in mind, I have worked hard to create these new wines. I like to approach my winemaking like anything else I approach in life and that is to keep things moving forward, continually learn, and continually evolve.

While these wines retain the character of the wines I have made in the past they are slightly more refined and “tighter” if you will. It’s a progression for sure, and one that I am extremely happy with.”
