GROWING
- From the oldest vines in the vineyard, 35-40 years of age
- Soil: Ponca, which is composed of alternating layers of marl and sandstone. A very well-drained soil, suited to the high rainfall level of the region
- Organically farmed, stunningly low yield
- Hand harvested
WINEMAKING
- Grapes are destemmed, gently crushed with pneumatic press
- 2-3 months on the skins in old Slavonian oak vats (no temperature control, no sulfur added), racked and aged on lees for the next 3-4 years in large-format Slavonian oak casks, racking twice every year
- Bottled without fining, filtering, or sulphites
- 1-2 years in bottles before release, depending on the vintage
WHAT’S GOOD?
- Part of the iconic ‘’Radikon Blue’’ line. Known for the extensive time of skin contact.
- Lemon and pineapple dominate the nose with hints of fresh stone fruit. Layering with a whiff of toasted nuts, brioche, and fresh herbs, notably thyme
- Extraordinary wine. Mouth-puckering tannin, crunchy acidity, savory but lively. O…… also means ‘OTHERWORLDLY’
- Unique Radikon-designed bottle shape, optimum for aging. Undoubtedly capable of aging gracefully for several decades in the cellar.
